Friday, May 6, 2022

Kingston, ON— The popular Science Rendezvous Kingston, an annual science festival for all ages, will once again be back in-person on Saturday May 7 to inspire curiosity, promote research, and make Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) accessible to all. Virtual events are also taking place from May 6-13.

This live Kingston-based festival is a free, family-oriented event at the Leon’s Centre in downtown Kingston and will feature Queen’s research in the STEM areas. Over 30 interactive displays will be set up, covering topics like space research, the human brain and heart, mining, climate, robotics and more. Visitors will have the chance to see real fossils of Ice Age creatures and try out a hoverboard.

Now in its 11th year, Science Rendezvous is led and organized by Lynda Colgan, Professor Emerita in the Faculty of Education, who has been spearheading the event in Kingston for the past decade.
