MEDIA ADVISORY: Student Mental Health in the Age of COVID-19 Webinar

Queen’s University, with partner Bell Let’s Talk, is hosting a free online webinar “Student Mental Health in the Age of COVID-19.” Discover tips and best practices for taking care of mental health, and learn how to spot signs of mental illness. The event coincides with Mental Illness Awareness Week which runs Oct. 4-10.


The panel will feature four Queen’s University health care professionals and mental health experts:
• Dr. Jane Philpott, Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences and Director of the School of Medicine at Queen’s; former Federal Minister of Health
• Dr. Heather Stuart, Queen’s professor, researcher, and champion of mental health; Bell Canada Chair in Mental Health and Anti-stigma Research
• Dr. Anne Duffy, academic psychiatrist specializing in mental illness research among young people
• Dr. Brooke Linden, post-doctoral fellow with research focus in improving understanding of stress among students


The free online webinar takes place Thursday, Oct. 8 at 11:30 am EDT. Any journalist interested in joining can register online on the Queen’s website. A recording of the webinar can be made available to reporters shortly after the event is completed (upon request).
