Queen’s University election and voting expert Kathy Brock can comment on the upcoming municipal elections set for Monday, October 27 and she will also be available for comment on the election results, both local and provincial, on Tuesday, October 28.
Dr. Brock can comment on the need to balance citizen fatigue, impatience with property taxes, the demand for quality services and the constraints on funding from the province in the lead-up to Election Day. She can also speak about engagement and the need to encourage citizens to become more active at the municipal level.
“A final area that needs some attention is the shift in culture from adversarial and competitive politics to more consensus politics and the costs and benefits of that.”
