Queen’s University welcomes first-year students on Move-in Day

Thursday, August 31, 2017

Over 4,200 first-year students will be moving into Queen’s University residences on Sunday, September 3, 2017, as they prepare for the start of their academic year.

Move-in Day also signals the kick-off of Orientation Week – a dynamic series of events designed to welcome new students, familiarize them with the academic atmosphere of Queen’s, and to help them settle into campus life in preparation for their first semester.

Residences Move-In Day is Sunday, September 3, 2017. Ann Tierney, Vice-Provost and Dean of Student Affairs, will be available to speak with media at 10 a.m. in front of Grant Hall to discuss how Queen’s is welcoming students to their new homes, and how Move-in Day logistics have been designed, in partnership with the City and community partners, to support a steady flow of cars through the streets surrounding campus, and a smooth move-in process for families, as well as to minimize the impact on the local community.

Orientation Week will run from Sunday, September 3 through to Sunday, September 10.
