The commenting period is now open for five university policies and procedures that are either being developed or updated.
The University Secretariat has posted the individual policies and their procedures on its website, where they will remain for two weeks. Queen’s community members are asked to email their comments to policies@queensu.ca and include the name of the specific policy they are addressing in the subject line of the email. Information regarding the units and individuals consulted in the development of the policies and procedures is detailed in each document.
The list of policies and procedures includes:
- Payments to Research Study Participants, a new procedure document outlining how to issue cash, near-cash or non-cash items to research study participants.
- Accommodation of Disabilities, a new policy and procedures to support the university’s commitment to meeting the needs of disabled persons under the Ontario Human Rights Code. The policy recognizes that Queen’s is enriched intellectually, social and culturally by the presence and participation of people with disabilities and sets standards for ensuring compliance with the university’s duty to accommodate.
- Return to Work, a new policy and procedures to support the university’s commitment to assisting employees’ return to their pre-disability job as soon as possible.
- Tracking Moveable Assets, a new policy and procedures for managing and safeguarding the university’s portable, tangible property.
- Travel and Expense Reimbursement, an update to the framework for reimbursement of reasonable business expenses while ensuring the effective use of public resources, transparency and accountability.
All of the university’s policies are collected on the University Secretariat website.
