Deadline for comments on Queen’s Library external review extended

On Aug. 1, Tom Harris, Interim Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), informed the Queen’s community that the Queen’s Library would undergo an external review.

On Monday, Sept. 23, Dr. Harris provided an update that, in light of the number of people in the community seeking to submit comments, the deadline for the submissions has been extended to Monday, Oct. 21 at 4 pm.

The intent of the review is to provide an assessment of the state of and opportunities for the library, and to inform the appointment of the next Vice-Provost and University Librarian. The reviewers, Vivian Lewis, University Librarian at McMaster University, and Jonathan Bengtson, University Librarian at the University of Victoria, will meet with stakeholders across the university on Thursday, Oct. 31 and Friday, Nov. 1.

Members of the university community are invited to comment on the present state and future direction of the Library via provost@queensu.ca. Comments may be submitted anonymously.

Provost Harris encourages community members to share their feedback on how the Queen’s Library can continue to evolve to serve our teaching, learning, and research needs.
