Energy demand management - updated Sept. 4

There is increased demand on the provincial power grid today (Sept. 4) due to the current weather conditions (high temperature and humidity). As a result, there will be an electricity demand response today, which will affect building cooling systems from approximately 3 to 7 pm.

Since the warmer and more humid weather is expected to continue tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 5), we anticipate curtailment to occur again; however, we will confirm the exact timing early in the day.

If you are interested in helping with the response today, please turn off non-essential lighting during the day and shut down your computers and other non-essential equipment before you leave at the end of the day.

More information about the electricity peak demand management program is available on the sustainability website. Those with questions may also contact Fixit at extension 77301 (internal), 613-533-6757 (external) or by e-mail.
