Fire alarm verifications – Douglas Library and Richardson Laboratory

Fire alarm verifications are scheduled to be witnessed by Kingston Fire and Rescue according to the following schedule on Friday, Feb. 22:

  • Douglas Library: 8 am
  • Richardson Laboratory: 9 am

Please note that these are proposed times and that the amount of time spent inspecting may run shorter or longer in any one building which may impact the start time for any of the buildings. The scope of testing will include horns and strobes so there will be some noise and visual disruption in each building.

During the course of each testing period, if an alarm is audible for longer than one minute, it should be treated as a real alarm and the building should be evacuated according to established departmental fire safety plans.

Technicians from Siemens Building Technologies will contact the Emergency Report Centre at the start of and upon completion of each testing period.
