With the aim of helping faculty and staff ‘Get Your 150’ (minutes of recommended exercise a week) to improve health and wellness, the Gazette and Athletics and Recreation will be offering Fit Tips each week.
Here’s 10 quick ways that you can ‘Get Your 150’:
- Walk to class
- Plan healthy meals for the week in advance
- Sit on a yoga ball when doing work at your desk
- Cut up fruits and vegetables in advance for a healthy snack
- Pack a lunch
- Always carry a reusable water bottle
- Do leg lifts to get blood flowing during those long lectures (night class anyone?)
- Substitute a short walk for a study break instead of browsing the internet
- Before bed do five relaxing stretches
- Do 10 jumping jacks and 10 toe touches when you wake up
