Fit Tip: 10 ways to 'Get Your 150'

With the aim of helping faculty and staff ‘Get Your 150’ (minutes of recommended exercise a week) to improve health and wellness, the Gazette and Athletics and Recreation will be offering Fit Tips each week.

Here’s 10 quick ways that you can ‘Get Your 150’:

  1. Walk to class
  2. Plan healthy meals for the week in advance
  3. Sit on a yoga ball when doing work at your desk
  4. Cut up fruits and vegetables in advance for a healthy snack
  5. Pack a lunch
  6. Always carry a reusable water bottle
  7. Do leg lifts to get blood flowing during those long lectures (night class anyone?)
  8. Substitute a short walk for a study break instead of browsing the internet
  9. Before bed do five relaxing stretches
  10. Do 10 jumping jacks and 10 toe touches when you wake up
