Government of Ontario Declaration of Emergency extended

In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep people home, the Government of Ontario has extended the Declaration of Emergency and associated emergency measures, including the closure of non-essential workplaces and restrictions on social gatherings. These actions are based on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health. As a result, Queen’s University will continue to maintain current operational levels on campus until April 13.  Please be aware this order can only be declared on a two-week basis. More details are available here.

Campus closures

In light of this decision, Queen’s employees are reminded that access to campus buildings is limited to staff who are required to be in the building.

The expectation during this period is that staff stay at home. You can access your building for the purpose of accessing materials etc. that may be necessary for you to work remotely. Notify your manager if you need to access the building.

Additionally, all outdoor recreational amenities, such as sports fields, will remain closed.

For more information about accessing campus buildings, see the FAQ section of the COVID-19 information for staff and faculty page on the Human Resources website.

For more information about sports and recreational facilities, see the Athletics and Recreation website.
