Overnight steam shutdown for Queen's Centre starting Thursday, Sept. 13

A steam shutdown is scheduled for the Queen’s Centre on Thursday, Sept. 13 beginning at 11 pm and extending until approximately 5 am on Friday, Sept. 14. This shutdown is required to permit Physical Plant Services to install a new air line which will be connected to the steam pressure reducing valve.

During the shutdown period, no new hot water will be produced; however, the considerable quantity of hot water held in the building’s three large hot water tanks is expected to be sufficient to meet the hot water demand through closing at day’s end. There will be no impact to the steam dryers used by Athletics and Recreation while work is in progress.
