Planned power outage, closure for McLaughlin Hall on Sept. 5 6-8 am

McLaughlin Hall will be temporarily closed during a planned 600 volt power outage for panel HPP-AA on Wednesday, Sept. 5 between 6 am and 8 am while contractors, working on behalf of Physical Plant Services, install a new breaker for penthouse work on a multi-stack chiller.

Special Notes:

  • Lighting and electrical receptacles powered by 120 volt power will not be affected by this planned outage.
  • There will be no fire safety implications while work is in progress as building’s fire alarm system and emergency lighting will remain fed by 120 volt power.
  • The building’s passenger elevator (EL1191) will be powered down on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 3:30 pm in anticipation of this planned outage. This device will be restored to operation on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 8 am.
  • Occupants should power down all 600 volt fed Machine Shop and research equipment prior to 6 am on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
