Power outage - BioSciences and 98, 100, 102 Barrie Street

A planned power outage is scheduled on Wednesday, April 29, 5 - 8 am while Physical Plant Services staff and contractors replace the primary high voltage feeder cable to BioSciences Complex (including Earl Hall) and the houses at 98/100/102 Barrie Street. Access to these buildings will be restricted to authorized personnel only while this work is completed.

Please take note of the following information:

  • Occupants in BioSciences Complex (including Earl Hall) and 98/100/102 Barrie Street should power down computers and sensitive equipment prior to leaving for the day on Tuesday, April 28.
  • The passenger elevators in BioSciences Complex (EL1381, EL1821 and EL1822) will be shut down on Wednesday, April 29 at 5 am and will be restored to service at 8 am.
  • The fire alarm system and emergency lighting for BioSciences Complex (including Earl Hall) will be powered by the standby generator.
  • Physical Plant Services electricians, steamfitters and refrigeration mechanics will attend to the affected buildings at 8 am to ensure that all building systems have successfully restored to normal power.
