QYourFuture launches for graduating students

Graduating students can prepare for their next steps with QYourFuture.

The final year of undergraduate studies at Queen’s comes with mixed emotions for many students – it’s a time to mark accomplishment, to grieve as the end of the experience approaches, and to feel both excitement and trepidation for the future. With the added impacts of the pandemic, this year’s graduating class may have additional questions and concerns.

QYourFuture is a new online resource that helps graduating students prepare for their next steps with “10 Things to Do Before You Graduate.” Every activity includes links to campus resources and supports. Students can pick and choose the steps that fit for them in any order they choose.

“We know graduating students have a lot on their minds, so we want to help them map out key steps in their transition” says Cathy Keates, Director, Career Services and Experiential Learning, Student Affairs. “Queen’s has a lot of great transition supports and we want to make sure students know what is available.”

QYourFuture was developed by Career Services in partnership with representatives from the Queen’s Student Alumni Association, Alumni Relations, the Faculty of Engineering Corporate Relations, and the Human Rights and Equity Office.

“There are a lot of resources, including the Queen’s Connects Career Network for students and alumni, that we’d like more students to know about,” says Aaryan Chaudhury, Queen’s Student Alumni Association President (ArtSci’21). “Queen’s alumni in the group are keen to support current students in their career exploration.”

All Career Fairs, and Career Services workshops, programming and advising are happening online this year. The next big event is the Engineering and Technology Fair on October 6 and 7, 10am-3pm EST when students in any discipline have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the engineering & technology sector.
