    Recognizing student leadership

The Division of Student Affairs is currently accepting nominations for its annual Student Recognition Awards. Individual and groups can be nominated for three awards that celebrate engagement and leadership on campus and in the community:

The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Impact Award honours the commitment of students to social justice and promoting inclusivity on campus.

The Brian Yealland Community Leadership Award recognizes students who contribute to society by working with and encouraging youth who are experiencing social, behavioural, economic or other challenges by helping them realize their worth and their potential to achieve.

The Peer Leadership Award is given to students who exemplify excellence in peer-to-peer assistance and outreach.

“We know there are many undergraduate and graduate students who give their time and energy to help strengthen our community,” says Vice-Provost and Dean of Student Affairs Ann Tierney. “We are pleased to showcase their initiative and accomplishments across campus and in the City of Kingston. We encourage faculty members, staff, students and community organizations who interact with our students to help us recognize the positive impact that they have in the community.”

The awards will be presented on March 11 at the annual Student Recognition Reception, where all students who are involved in peer leadership across the Division of Student Affairs are celebrated.

The nomination deadline is Feb. 4.
