Reconstruction of main entrance to Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC)

This summer Athletics and Recreation will be undergoing a major reconstruction project of the main entrance to the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC). This project will see the renovation of the main Q Services desk, Entry Gates, Q Shop, Student and Alumni lounges on the main level.

Starting May 9 at 6 am, entrance to the ARC will only be available through the ARC South entrance in Mitchell Hall. With member access to the full ARC through the tunnel and to program spaces through the usual stairways and elevators. All workout areas will remain open during the renovations. Additional wayfinding signage will be installed to assist in navigating the facility during this change.  View map

During this renovation, there will be no entry or access to the main floor of the ARC North. Full member services that are currently available at the main Q Services desk including membership, camp and program registrations will be available at the ARC South Q Services desk. For the first week of the transition to the alternate entrance, Q Services staff will be available at the ARC North entrance to assist with directions and questions.

The renovated main floor will feature a redesigned gate system with dedicated exit gate and two entry gates improving member access to the facility, a barrier-free Q Services counter and a dedicated ticket counter providing a more consumer-focused guest experience. Renovations will also include a larger Q Shop, an additional meeting space/tournament operations room, and a revitalized Alumni/Student lounge for meetings of groups up to 75 people.
