    Roadwork construction update

    • Storm and water main work continues on George Street, and is now in the intersection of Stuart Street and George Street. Beginning Tuesday, November 11, Stuart Street will be re-opened to through traffic. There will be a time in the near future when the intersection of Stuart and George will need to be closed again for a short duration in order to accommodate the tie-in of the water main; the schedule for that closure will be shared when it becomes available.
    • Some local streets (King Street West between Barrie Street and Lower University and Bagot Street between West Street and Barrie Street) will be closed the morning of Tuesday, November 11 for Remembrance Day ceremonies. During these closures, access to the emergency room and Cancer Centre/Burr Wing will be available from King Street West and Lower University. Access to the GIDRU Parking Lot and lower George Street parking will be available from O’Kill Street and Barrie Street. Both streets should be re-opened to traffic by noon at the latest.
    • Restoration work continues on the lower block of George Street, with sidewalks being formed and poured, and street lights installed. As work nears completion in the upper block, crews will begin to focus on restoration in that area as well.
    • Landscaping has been completed in the park at the foot of George Street.
