    Roadwork construction update: June 8-12

    A summary of roadwork activities for the week of June 8.

    • Crews have begun excavation work on Stuart Street to the east of George Street. George Street remains open and accessible to vehicles travelling eastbound on Stuart Street. Work to replace underground utilities will progress easterly towards the intersection of Stuart and Arch Streets. Crews are expected to reach the intersection of Arch Street in approximately two weeks’ time.
    • Crews are completing testing of the new water main on Okill Street. Excavation work is completed and crews have begun electrical work and the standing of light poles. Crews will be on site starting next week to begin the forming and pouring of sidewalks on the north side of Okill Street.
    • Also beginning Monday, June 1, Kingston Transit will be running detours for buses that travel Stuart Street. A full list of detours and stop locations can be found on the City of Kingston website: https://www.cityofkingston.ca/residents/transit/service-alerts
