Seeking final feedback on revised Harassment and Discrimination policy and procedures

As part of the university’s work to revise its existing policies related to harassment and discrimination, all faculty, staff, and students are now being asked for their feedback by March 5 on a second draft revised policy and set of procedures related to harassment and discrimination at the university.
All feedback received during the first phase of consultation in the fall term was reviewed and considered by the Working Group and the university’s Senior Leadership Team. Review a summary of this feedback and the changes made to the draft documents as a result.
The current version of the policy was last revised in 2000 and an interim workplace policy was introduced in 2016. The proposed policy and its procedures are intended to replace both policies and ensure a respectful and inclusive living, learning, and working environment. The proposals support Queen’s commitment to preventing harassment and discrimination through education, as well as support the effective response to complaints and reports of harassment and discrimination.
Revised drafts, showing substantive changes from Consultation Phase 1, can be found on the Secretariat website, along with specific information on the consultation timeline and the Policy’s history
Feedback from faculty, staff, and students is welcome by sending comments directly to univsec@queensu.ca.
The deadline for receipt of feedback in this second of two rounds of consultation is March 5.
