TedXQueensU event highlights QTBIPOC community

TedXQueensU, a student-run group, recently hosted its annual fall event with a focus on providing “a platform for individuals in the QTBIPOC community to share their ideas worth spreading regarding each community’s strength, resilience, hardships, identity, and history.”

Entitled ‘The Web 2020’, the online event, held Sunday, Oct. 4, brought together a number of presenters, including representatives of student groups, who highlighted the diversity and richness of the varied groups that make up the QTBIPOC community.

The Web 2020 also featured a panel discussion with Queen’s professors Heather Castleden (Geography and Planning), Alana Butler (Education), Karen Lawford (Gender Studies), and Scott Morgensen (Gender Studies).

A recording of the event is available online. Transcripts of the presentations are also available on the TedXQueensU website.
