Utility power outage for some Albert Street and Bader Lane properties on Dec. 12

Utilities Kingston advises that workers will be installing high voltage overhead electric lines to poles along Albert Street on behalf of electricity distributor, Kingston Hydro Corporation on Saturday, Dec. 12 between 8 am and 2 pm (approximate timing). This work is being done to support the university’s Albert Street residence project, which is under construction on the west side of Albert Street at Union Street.

Students with exams scheduled for Dec. 12 are asked to review the information below to ascertain if they may be impacted by this outage.

There will be no power to the following civic addresses while work is in progress:

  • 184-186 Union Street (Queen’s Day Care)
  • 108, 120, 130, 134 and 138 Albert Street
  • Construction site for Queen’s New Residence (formerly 142-154 Albert Street)
  • 32 and 51 Bader Lane

Please note:

  • Occupants in the affected addresses should power down computers and sensitive equipment prior to 8 am on Saturday, December 12.
  • 96 Albert Street will not be impacted by this outage.
  • Existing Queen’s Residences will not be impacted by this outage.
  • Weather conditions, emergencies, or other factors may prevent work from being conducted on the scheduled date forcing postponement to an alternate date.
