Water and compressed air shutdown scheduled for Stirling Hall

A building water and compressed air shutdown is scheduled for Stirling Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 6 between 6 am and 10 am (approximate timing) to permit Physical Plant Services to assist David J. Cupido Construction to cut and cap domestic water and compressed air lines in various areas as part of ongoing renovations for the Nanophotonics Research Centre.

As water is fed from Stirling Hall to the Rideau Building, there will be no domestic hot or cold water service available for hand washing, flushing toilets or kitchen use in both buildings while work is in progress. Occupants of Stirling Hall and the Rideau Building should be directed to washrooms in Chernoff Hall or Watson Hall during the shutdown period.

There will be no fire safety implications arising out of this shutdown as Stirling Hall’s fire sprinkler system is serviced by a separate water feed.
