Last week the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) released a report titled ‘The Future of the Canadian Auto Industry’ authored by Automotive Policy Research Centre (APRC) researchers Dr. Charlotte Yates and Dr. John Holmes. The report received wide media coverage including from CBC, Toronto Star, Canadian Press, Reuters and Automotive News. The report is available for download on the CCPA’s website.  The APRC is in the process of transitioning from a SSHRC-funded university-based research centre to APRC Inc. - a non-profit corporation with a mandate to conduct and disseminate evidence-based research and foster dialogue among researchers, industry stakeholders, and policy-makers related to the role of public policy in supporting Canada’s globally competitive automotive industry. John Holmes is a member of APRC’s new Board of Directors.

John Holmes (Arts and Science, Department of Geography and Planning). Toronto Star: FCA invests big in Michigan as analysts question future of Brampton plant. Professor Holmes says Chrysler investment in Michigan plant doesn't bode well for Brampton, which needs new vehicles in growing segments to survive.
