Bryan Collins
Teaching Fellow
Department of Geography and Planning
Prior to coming to Queen’s to complete his PhD in environmental studies, Bryan received an MS degree in GIS from the University of Denver and a BA degree in Geospatial Science from Carthage College. Bryan has also worked as a junior hydrologist at the USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center as part of their geospatial analyses team.
His research utilizes a holistic approach to promoting agricultural sustainability across biophysical, social, and economic contexts. A framework centered around the idea of resilience is used to interrogate the ability of farms to deal with adverse shocks and stresses in Southeastern Ontario. In turn, this information will be used to inform future policy in efforts to make Ontario’s food and agricultural systems more equitable and ecologically friendly.'
