About:

Dr. Way is a physical geographer who specializes in understanding the impacts of climate change on the terrestrial cryosphere (glaciers, permafrost, ice). Dr. Way is of Inuit descent (Nunatsiavummiut) and was born and raised in the central Labrador community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL.

Research Interests:

Dr. Way's research uses a combination of field study, environmental modelling and remote sensing to characterize and predict environmental and climatic changes in northern environments with a particular interest on permafrost in Subarctic and Arctic Labrador. Dr. Way also operates a remote network of climate stations across Labrador which support climate monitoring and adaptation initiatives in the region.
