PhD Student Receives CEMF Claudette MacKay Lassonde Graduate Award

Congratulations to PhD student, Simone Markus, on receiving the Claudette MacKay Lassonde Graduate Award from the Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation (CEMF).

The mission of the CEMF is to "provide opportunities for Canadian women to become engineers". The award is named in honour of Claudette MacKay-Lassonde, P.Eng., who is the Founder of the CEMF. This is an ambassadorial award and recipients are considered to be leaders, ambassadors for the profession, and serve as role models for other women who dream of becoming engineers.

Simone commented, saying "I am honoured to be an ambassador of such a wonderful foundation, and am looking forward to collaborating with the CEMF to continue supporting women in engineering."

More information can be found on the CEMF website

Congratulations, Simone!
