Two Alumni Recognized for Their Research

Two former graduates of the Queen's Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering paleontology program recently achieved public recognition for their research.

Dr. T. Alexander Dececchi, (William E. White Post-doctoral Fellow in paleontology at Queen’s University from 2015-2017; now Assistant Professor at Mt Marty College, ND) was featured in an article in New York Times for his recent paper in PLOS One, on the maximum speeds of T. rex and other dinosaurs.

Dr. Matthew Clapham (MSc'02; William E. White Post-doctoral Fellow from September 2006 - December 2007; now Professor at University of California, Santa Cruz) received the Pikaia Award of the Geological Association of Canada Paleontology Division for “outstanding contributions to the field of paleontology by an early career worker”.

Congratulations to both for this well deserved recognition!
