International Students

The Gender Studies Graduate Program welcomes international applicants. However, international enrollment is limited: the program generally admits one new international student per year.

International graduate students admitted to full-time study at Queen’s University pay a higher tuition fee than domestic students. If accepted, an international applicant may be eligible to receive the International Tuition Award ($5000) as a partial tuition rebate.

Comprehension of the English language

At Queen's, English is the language of instruction and communication, except for the language departments. Proficiency in English is, therefore, a prerequisite for admission. Those applicants whose native languages do not include English will be required to obtain satisfactory standing in an English Language Proficiency Test as part of the application process, and before final acceptance is granted.

For full details on minimum scores required for the various English language tests see Step 3 on the How to Apply page on School of Graduate Studies webpage
