Elaine Power Appointed Head of Gender Studies

On behalf of Interim Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Tom Harris and Dean Barbara Crow, I am pleased to inform you that Dr. Elaine Power, School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, has been appointed Head, Department of Gender Studies for the period January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023.

Grand Opening of the Gender Neutral Accessible Washroom in Gender Studies

The Department of Gender Studies celebrated the opening of the new gender neutral accessible washroom in Mackintosh-Corry Hall, D wing, South end. This washroom is easily accessible via the wheelchair ramp at the Mackintosh-Corry entrance closest to Watson Hall and by taking the elevator up to the 5th floor. Katherine McKittrick receives American Association of Geographers' Award for Anti-Racism Research and Practice

The Rose Award was created to honor Harold M. Rose, who was a pioneer in conducting research on the condition faced by African Americans. The award honors geographers who have a demonstrated record of this type of research and active contributions to society, and is awarded to individuals who have served to advance the discipline through their research, and who have also had an impact on anti-racist practice.
