Samantha Summers is the Manager of Individual Giving for the Toronto International Film Festival, where she manages the grassroots and intermediate giving portfolios. Prior to this she worked in a fundraising capacity for small museums and heritage sites, and in communications. She has a deep love for fundraising in the arts, and in July 2021 she defended her thesis, “Divestment in Times of Change: The Loss of Major Donors in Art Galleries,” at the University of Toronto. She completed her MA in History at Queen’s University in 2018, where she defended a thesis titled “Gender, Power, and Regnant Queenship in the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem” under the supervision of Dr. Adnan Husain. Samantha holds a Master of Museum Studies, a Master of Information, a Master of Arts, and a Bachelor of Arts.
