Joseph McQuade

M.A. (History) Queen's University, 2013

Joseph McQuade completed his MA in 2013 under the joint supervision of Dr. Amitava Chowdhury and Dr. Sandra den Otter, supported by a Canadian Graduate Scholarship from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada. His Master’s research looked at official and literary depictions of terrorism in early twentieth century colonial India, and a distilled version of this thesis was published in the journal Sikh Formations. Joseph is currently pursuing his PhD in History as a Gates scholar at the University of Cambridge, where his research examines the origins of terrorism as a legal and political category in British India and the world.
