About

I am excited about the opportunity to return to Queen's for graduate school, where I will be best able to pursue my primary interest in the contemporary development of historical methodology and historiography, particularly in the nascent field of global history. Graced with the supervision of Dr. Amitava Chowdhury, I am currently setting out on a project that will seek to re-examine the eighteenth-century German mercenaries commonly known as the Hessians and question the extent to which their experience and engagement with an imperially-diverse North America might be perceived as global. Anecdotally, this topic holds a special relevance for me, as the first of my patrilineal ancestors to immigrate to Canada was amongst these men.
