About

After working for a number of years in the museum sector in the UK, I returned to Queen’s to undertake my PhD. My research project combines my academic and professional interests to examine cultural exchange and identity formation between Britain and North America in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Supervised by Dr. Jane Errington and Dr. Amitava Chowdhury, my research traces networks of objects, people and ideas in the British Atlantic World, and how these relate to concepts of home, identity and belonging. More broadly, I am interested in how people in the past (and now) conceive of themselves in relation to the wider world, as well as the role of material culture in providing a tangible link to the past.
