Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English and History (2019), University of New Brunswick – Saint John

For my undergraduate honours degree in History and English, I combined these two disciplines by using the primary source of Queen Victoria’s journal to discover what the monarch read, her views on the works that she read and their authors, and to discover the individuals in her life who influenced her reading.  I will be working under Dr. Sandra den Otter and will continue to study Queen Victoria. My interest in Queen Victoria was cemented in May 2019 when I visited the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle and was able to view some of Victoria’s papers and early journals. My research interests include all aspects of the Victorian period and the British monarchy in the 19th and 20th centuries. I am specifically interested in the life of Queen Victoria and her influence on the era that bears her name.
