About

After obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I worked for over two years at Médecins Sans Frontières Brazil (MSF-Brazil), first as an advocacy intern, then as assistant to the General Director.

In my Master’s, I will combine my humanitarian passion with an interest in nutrition and hunger studies. Under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Manley, my thesis investigates the changing conceptualizations of hunger, with a focus on its medical connotations from the Second World War onwards, and the development of nutritional solutions for emergency contexts.

I wish to complicate the novelty and therapeutic application of humanitarian technologies of nutrition. Further, I aim to problematize the increasingly technocratic character of humanitarian aid.
