The department is organizing a two-part workshop, to help you prepare successful funding applications to support your studies and research, particularly the SSHRC CGS-Doctoral application due October 13th, 4 pm (EST), and the SSHRC CGS-Master’s application due December 1. The departmental workshop is for both awards.
If you are a current doctoral student in years 1-3 of the program or a first-year MA student planning to apply to do the pattern I (two-year) MA, you are required to apply (if eligible) as a condition of your funding package. If you are currently an MA student planning to apply to doctoral programs beginning in 2023-24, you are strongly encouraged to apply for the doctoral fellowship.
To help you prepare your applications, the department is organizing a two-part workshop:
2) Thursday September 29th, 9:00am-11:00 am: During this peer review workshop, your proposal will be reviewed by a group of four or five students and one faculty member. Drafts of the proposals will be pre-circulated to all members of each group, and are to be sent to Cathy by Monday, September 26th, 2020 at noon. This workshop is mandatory for all HIST 901 students. Space will be limited, so please RSVP using the attached form by Sept 22. Keep in mind that workshopped proposals have a far greater rate of success.
