Melissa Shaw (PhD 2021) receives honourable mention for Canadian Historical Association's John Bullen Prize

Melissa N. Shaw (PhD 2021) has received Honourable Mention for the Canadian Historical Association's 2022 John Bullen Prize for her dissertation "Blackness and British 'Fair Play': Burgeoning Black Social Activism in Ontario and its Responses to the Canadian Colour Line, 1919-1939."

The John Bullen Prize recognizes the most outstanding doctoral thesis on a historical topic completed at a Canadian university.

Melissa completed her PhD at Queen's under the supervision of Dr. Jane Errington.
