Alexander Peacock is a first year PhD student, whose research interests focus on the British Empire in North America during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. His MA research focussed on Upper Canada under its first lieutenant governor, John Graves Simcoe, and his conceptualisation of the colony as a British counter-revolutionary polity. Under the supervision of Dr. Jane Errington, he intends to continue exploring themes surrounding empire and identity in British America.
