I entered Tyndale University studying Business, but after experiencing my first university-level history course, I quickly realized where my passion really was. I added Theology as a second major in lieu of an Honours because I believe that religion is one of the strongest influencers of history.
My current historical interests explore various aspects of the Crusading Era, specifically crusader relations with the Byzantine Empire. Under the supervision of Dr. Richard Greenfield, I am currently studying the Norman knight Bohemond of Taranto, examining the influences and relationships which directed him to join the First Crusade and take control of Antioch. I am grateful to have received a SSHRC to support me in this research.
Other interests of mine include the British Empire, the Middle East, the History of Christianity, and Islamic History.
