About

My primary areas of interest are modern Chinese history and world history, with a focus on the environmental perspective. My doctoral project, under Dr. Emily Hill’s supervision, explores the environmental changes in Chongming Island, China. It would examine the natural evolution of the island and its environment over time. Through analyzing various materials, especially including oral sources reflecting the recent seventy years of events, I hope to present how people transformed this island that its lands are fluctuated and exploited natural resources which varies in different time of periods, aiming to realize multiple goals and apply various significances to the island.
