Sanober’s thesis “Racializing Subalternity: Space, Caste, and Gender in Muslim Mohallas of Lucknow (1947-1993)” was completed under the supervision of Dr. Barrington Walker and Dr. Saadia Toor.

We thank Dr. Walker as co-supervisor, graduate chair, Dr. Adnan Husain, and the chair of the committee Associate Dean Betsy Donald for pioneering the first fully remote PhD examination.
