Ignition Week at the Rose Innovation Hub

Ignition Week January 14-18 The Rose Innovation Hub inside Mitchell Hall

To celebrate being in our new space in Mitchell Hall, we are planning an entrepreneurship-themed week of events from January 14-18th. DDQIC's “Ignition Week” is an inaugural celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation that brings together people, ideas, and opportunities from across the Queen's campus and the Kingston community. Ignition Week will showcase the new home of DDQIC, the Rose Innovation Hub, and feature a wide variety of events to appeal to everyone who is curious about how they can practice innovation or become an entrepreneur.

Mayor's Innovation Challenge - Design & Refine Working Session

Queen's and SLC students interested in pursuing an idea for the Mayor's Innovation Challenge have the opportunity to schedule 15 min consultations with City of Kingston and DDQIC staff to help design & refine their proposal for the challenge. While other teams are in their scheduled consultation appointments, we encourage teams to use the new space in Mitchell Hall to work on their proposals. There will be City and DDQIC staff available to answer any additional questions you may have. At 11:30 a.m., food and refreshments will be served in the Event Commons (Rm. 103), which will be followed by special presentations from experts in the social innovation industry. After these brief presentations, you will have the opportunity to network and bounce your ideas off of industry experts and QICSI alumni who will offer unique perspectives on how to finish developing your social innovation idea.
