DDQIC Student Entrepreneurship Success Stories

Since its launch in 2012, the Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre (DDQIC) (formerly the Queen’s Innovation Connector) acts as a catalyst to advance innovation and entrepreneurship throughout Queen’s and eastern Ontario. DDQIC has been a proud supporter of student success in entrepreneurship. DDQIC continues to support a number of existing ventures that were either founded through the Queen's Innovation Centre Summer Initiative (QICSI) or have participated in the QyourVenture Accelerator Program.

QICSI Company Profiles

The Queen’s Innovation Centre Summer Initiative (QICSI), now in its 8th year, offers the valuable opportunity for students to take advantage of training, seed funding and mentorship, while being paid to launch their own business. QICSI is a 17-week summer internship for enterprising Queen’s students with a capacity for creativity, a tolerance for risk and an interest in entrepreneurship, corporate or social innovation. Students have the opportunity to work in a diverse team with bright individuals from across different programs.

QyourVenture Company Profiles

QyourVenture, launched in 2014, is an acceleration program for students with a team and a fully formed idea. As part of QyourVenture, students receive space, training, and seed funding for their business venture. DDQIC accepts companies into QyourVenture on a rolling basis throughout the school year.
