Do you need seed funding to advance your startup idea? This competition is for you! Apply for a chance to receive up to $30,000.

The annual Dunin-Deshpande Summer Pitch Competition is the largest pitch competition in Kingston that provides early-stage startups the opportunity to compete for seed funding for their venture. This competition is open to ventures at Queen's and in the Kingston region. Applicants must be based in the Kingston region but do NOT have to be associated with Queen's University.

Startups will be pitching to a panel of expert judges to gain valuable feedback on their business model and have a chance to win significant funding and support for their company. The pool of funding available is approximately $100,000 and is awarded at the judges discretion.

Eligibility

This competition is for:

  • Early-stage ventures who have less than $10,000 in funding (grants, pitch prizes, loans, equity). If you have already achieved significant revenues, this will also be considered in the adjudication process.
  • Ventures that are located in the Kingston region or have some affiliation with the area. The impact of the venture on the Kingston region will be taken into consideration for all regional applicants in the adjudication process.
