Conferences, Clubs, Competitions & Internships

Becoming a delegate or joining the executive team of a conference, competition, or club, is a great way to develop your entrepreneurial mindset.

For those who have an operating venture, these events are also a great way to find co-founders, and meet people with the skills you need to make your venture successful. Internships through Smith also present an exciting opportunity.

Conferences, Clubs & Competitions

There are many opportunities to explore entrepreneurship and innovation at Queen’s through taking part in student-led conferences and competitions as a delegate or an organizer.

Looking for funding for your student-led conference?

Each year, DDQIC sponsors between 20-25 student-led conferences, events, and initiatives that align with our mandate to support innovation and entrepreneurship at Queen's and in the Kingston region. With an increase in demand for funding, sponsorship has become much more competitive and as a result, we have developed an online form to help us organize applications. If you are an organizer of a student-led conference or event, please use the form below to tell us about your organization and how we can help.

Strong candidates for DDQIC sponsorship include clubs, conferences, or other events with the following characteristics:

  • Directly support innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Multidisciplinary (both the executive team and student delegations)
  • Open to the community (delegates, club members, or speakers from the Kingston community)
