Queen's University Queen's University

Information for Queen’s students from Saudi Arabia

August 2018

The university understands that as Saudi Arabian citizens, you have received direction from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to repatriate by the end of the summer, and your government has directed that all training, scholarships and fellowships to Canada will be suspended.

We recognize this is a stressful time, and we are committed to providing you with the unique supports you may need as you work through this unfortunate situation, assess your options and make decisions about your next steps.

There is a lot of assistance available on campus and we encourage you to take care of yourself and to reach out. We are here to help you.

Our institution has a long history of welcoming Saudi Arabian students in all our programs at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels. We will work very closely with you and your program to process a withdrawal or leave of absence if you file a formal request to do so, and we will ensure you can resume your studies if and when you are able to do so.

Questions concerning your academic options or standing should be directed to your faculty or program offices.

The International Student Advisor (ISA) at the Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) can be reached at isa@queensu.ca and can help in many ways, including providing immigration-related advice. If you are not sure who to contact about a question you have, the ISA is great starting point.

If you are planning to leave the university, you may need to order an official transcript or receive other services from the Office of the University Registrar. For assistance, please visit the office at Gordon Hall 125, Monday-Friday between 8:30-4:30 and identify yourself as a student from Saudi Arabia, as specialized supports are in place to help you.

The following campus resources may also be of assistance:
