Visiting for less than 3 weeks

Visiting for more than 3 weeks

must join University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) within 30 days of arrival. Coverage is retroactive to date of arrival.&

Visiting for less than 6 months

Visiting and employed for 6 months or more

you are only eligible for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) if you are an employee of Queen's University holding a work permit. You must obtain a Letter of Verification of your employment to apply for OHIP. Please contact the Human Resources Department for information.

You must also bring a passport and lease or similar document as proof that you have been a resident of Ontario for at least 3 months.
The UHIP/OHIP plans do not cover cost of prescription drugs and dental care.
UHIP rates are subject to yearly change.
