Virtual International Exchange Fair (Nov 16 - 19)

Week of November 16 - 19Zoom Room graphic describing the date and time

You are invited to the Arts & Science and Engineering & Applied Science Virtual International Exchange Fair! (Registration Link)

There is no better way to begin your research and heighten your excitement about studying abroad than attending the famous International Exchange Fair.

Every year the Faculties of Arts & Science and Engineering & Applied Sciences collaborate to host an International Exchange Fair, at which students learn about more than 100 exchange universities in over 30 countries around the world. For the first time ever, our Fair will be held virtually – which means things are a bit different and just as exciting. Here are a few reasons we are excited about this change:

  1. You do not need to be in Kingston to attend the Fair – join from wherever you are in the world!
  2. You can speak with program alumni who have previously studied on exchange  and representatives from exchange universities around the world.
  3. You can attend multiple sessions featuring different regions around the world and have unique international experiences all week.

There’s a lot to learn at the Fair so we are hosting it over four days. Here is our itinerary:

Day One: Monday, November 16 from 10:00am-11:30am EST

  • Featuring partner universities in: the United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales) and the Republic of Ireland!

Day Two: Tuesday, November 17 from 9:00-10:30am EST

  • Featuring partner universities in: Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.

Day Three: Wednesday, November 18 from 8:00-9:30pm EST

  • Featuring partner universities in: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan!

Day Four: Thursday, November 19 from 2:00-3:30pm EST

  • Featuring partner universities in: Barbados, Chile, Jamaica, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States

How will this work?

Each session will be held in Microsoft Teams and each of our partner universities will have their own Channel. You will be able to “travel” from one Channel to another to engage with exchange university representatives and Queen’s students who studied abroad last year.

Like our valued exchange partners, each Channel will be a bit different, but we anticipate they may feature Q&A video panels, active chat messaging, lots of downloadable promotional material, and short presentations.

You will be sent a Fair Guide in advance of the session so you will know how to navigate these Channels with ease.

We encourage you to register for as many sessions as you would like to attend. Please note that exchange partners may vary between faculties, and that we may not have representation at the fair from all our exchange partners.

We look forward to seeing you online!

Accessibility note: Queen’s is committed to an inclusive campus community with accessible goods, services, and facilities that respect the dignity and independence of persons with disabilities. Please contact the International Programs Office at ipo@queensu.ca or the Engineering International Office engineering.intladvisor@queensu.ca if you would like to discuss alternative formats or support for this event.

KGU CCC Global Career Seminar Application Deadline

Graphic describing the KGU deadline of Oct 27

The KGU CCC Global Career Seminar, Winter 2021

In a global world and economy the importance of cross-cultural skills and practical work experience is irrefutable. Kwansei Gakuin University’s (KGU) Cross-Cultural College Certificate enables Queen’s students to develop these necessary skills and experiences while earning transfer credit.

The KGU Global Career Seminar is one component of KGU’s larger Certificate. You can apply this October to participate in February 2021’s Seminar! The Global Career Seminar is scheduled for the February reading week (Sunday, February 14, 2021 — Friday, February 19, 2021).

Seminar participants will complete online learning sessions in preparation to work online with peers from KGU, the University of Toronto and Mount Allison University to solve problems posed to them by leading business executives. This unique Seminar provides students with insight into cross-cultural business relations, tangible experience and an opportunity to network with internationally-minded peers and company representatives from Canada and Japan.

Successful completion of the Seminar will yield a 3.0 credit from KGU which can be transferred to Queen's as a 3.0 academic unit. For more information about this exciting opportunity please visit the Global Career Seminar webpage.

Applications and supporting documents for the Global Career Seminar 2021 program must be submitted online to the IPO by noon on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

Note: Applicants must have completed two semesters of study at their home university as of January 31, 2020. If you are currently in first year we encourage you to keep this program on your radar as students come back to our office each year and tell us the Global Career Seminar was the experience of a lifetime!
