Returning from Exchange? Share Your Stories!

The International Programs Office (IPO) and the Queen's University International Centre (QUIC) are co-hosting a student speaker series called 'Back from Abroad: Beyond the Comfort Zone' this Fall. We are accepting applications from students returning from an exchange program who have important insights to share with their peers and the broader Queen's community. If you overcame challenges, made the strange familiar, and returned with new viewpoints, we're looking for you!

By participating in the Back from Abroad series presenters will:

  • hone public speaking skills;
  • connect with others interested in and participating in international education intiatives;
  • reflect on their studies abroad;
  • and give back to their communities by indirectly advising and encouraging prospective exchange students.

Interested in applying? We hope so! Please review the Call for Applications, which more thoroughly outlines this series. We encourage returning exchange students from any Faculty and academic level to apply. Selected presenters will be required to prepare with the IPO and other presenters ahead of their session, though time requirements will be minimal and flexible. Please indicate our preferred session time and date under "Presentation Outline" on the application form. Questions about this series can be emailed to Applications are due by September 8 and can be emailed or dropped off. Best of luck to all applicants!
