Global Affairs and the Chinese Ministry of Education offer short-term scholarships to Canadians wishing to study abroad in China. Scholarships are awarded for studies, research, language studies or a combination of studies and language studies at participating Chinese institutions. 

  • Program: Canada-China Scholars' Exchange Program.
  • Funding Organisation: Global Affairs Canada and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
  • Number of Scholarships: Over 20.
  • Program Duration: 4-12 months for students.
  • Benefits: Airfare, tuition (non-Queen's), on-campus accommodation, health insurance, monthly living stipend (typically 2,500 yuan per month).
  • Application and Eligibility: Applicants studying on an International Letter of Permission (i.e., not exchange). Applicants must have Canadian citizenship to apply for funding. Visit the Canada-China Scholars' Exchange Program website for full eligibility and application details.

Please note that students in receipt of Canada-China Scholars' Exchange Program funding may not apply for CLIC or CSC funding. Please direct all inquiries regarding this funding program to scholarships-bourses@cbie.ca.
